When air taxis commence they will essentially be piloted electric helicopters. In time they will morph into unpiloted autonomous aircraft which will enable the industry to scale.
The step in between is going to be unpiloted delivery drones. Many of the leading air taxi designers are also developing heavy lifting delivery models which will be used to prove that autonomous air taxis can pass stringent safety requirements for passenger approval.
The Skyportz vertiport network will be made available to partners in the delivery drone space.
